‘I can’t believe it’: Tony Dorigo left stunned by Leeds United player who was absolutely ‘brilliant’ vs Bournemouth
Tony Dorigo has told that he was left stunned by Wilfried Gnonto after his ‘brilliant’ performance against Bournemouth yesterday.
Leeds got off to a dream start at Elland Road after Crysencio Summerville won his side a penalty. Rodrigo converted calmly but the Whites were pegged back just four minutes later.
The Cherries fought back with goals from Marcus Tavernier and Philip Billing to take a 2-1 lead inside 20 minutes.
It got even worse for Jesse Marsch’s side just three minutes into the second-half as Dominic Solanke extended his side’s lead.
But one of Marsch’s half-time substitutions proved to be an inspired one. Gnonto was involved in everything yesterday and spearheaded his side to a dramatic comeback win.
And the 19-year-old’s performance left former Leeds man Dorigo absolutely stunned yesterday.

Dorigo left stunned by Gnonto
, Dorigo feels Gnonto plays with a maturity beyond his years.
“I have to say Gnonto was brilliant. He came on at 45 minutes and was superb,” he said.
“If he’s 19 then I can’t believe it because the way he plays, he has an old head on young shoulders and he was very, very good.
“Even seeing the game out at the end but the ball that he slipped through. The run was magnificent but the ball he slipped through.”

Sam Greenwood and Liam Cooper got Leeds back on level terms by the 68th minute. And the hero at Anfield in Summerville grabbed another dramatic late winner to hand Marsch’s side all three points.
But Gnonto was a real bright spark for Leeds during the second-half with his direct running.
The Italian produced a brilliant run from just outside his own box and finished it with a perfectly-weighted through ball to Summerville for the winner.
Gnonto has only made two appearances in the Premier League for Leeds this season, with the other coming at Anfield last week.
The youngster has impressed on both occasions and is certainly staking his claim for a starting place in Marsch’s side.
