‘I always say’: Conte says he expects more from two Tottenham players compared to any others in the squad
Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has had his say on his two star players, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.
Spurs are on cloud nine now after their fantastic victory over Manchester City on Saturday. Kane was the star of the show thanks to his two goals, while Son Heung-min, even though he didn’t find the net, was absolutely fantastic as well.
Every Tottenham fan knows that Kane and Son are by far their two best players and it looks like Conte has understood that now too.
The Italian revealed in his press conference that he expects a lot more from Son and Kane than he does from any other player in his squad at the moment.

The Tottenham manager said yesterday, as per : “Sonny and Kane, I always say that we are talking about two players that are very good, at an important level.
“My expectation when you have these two players are higher than other players.
“I think Sonny played a bit but then had a serious injury and to lose him for one month and a half wasn’t good for us. Also because when you recover you need a bit of time to be fit, to have a good form. Now he’s fit, Sonny and I repeat he’s an important player for us.
“There’s a good connection between him and Harry.”

Son and Kane are Tottenham’s biggest assets, there’s no denying that, but the over-reliance on their two star players has been one of the biggest reasons why they have struggled.
When Kane and Son start and are in form, Tottenham rarely struggle to score goals. However, if they’re injured or can’t find a way through, Spurs don’t really have a player who can step up and have a positive impact on a consistent basis.
Conte’s biggest task is to find a way around that. He’s right to expect more from Kane and Son and the two superstars are more than capable of meeting those expectations.
However, it’s time for some of the others to step up and show the world what they’re all about as well.
