Hugo Lloris admits he’s still annoyed by what Daniel Levy did before Tottenham’s Champions League final vs Liverpool
Tottenham Hotspur have been unable to replicate their relative success from 2019 when they reached the Champions League final.
Ange Postecoglou is yet to manage Tottenham in the Champions League with the Australian only managing to secure Europa League football last season.
But Dominic Solanke says Postecoglou is sharing the importance of winning silverware at Tottenham this season.
The Lilywhites now have a 16-year trophy drought to end under Postecoglou who has not shied away from speaking about winning silverware.
However, it is something which former Spurs captain Hugo Lloris has just said that is causing some controversy among Spurs fans.

How Daniel Levy annoyed Hugo Lloris and the Tottenham players
Tottenham’s ongoing trophy drought goes on but it could have been so much different had they won the Champions League.
But it is something which Daniel Levy did in the build up to that final in Madrid which annoyed a number of the Tottenham players.
“We do all have one engraved memory, though. Four days before the final, Daniel Levy called us all together to announce that, with the support of a sponsor, we would each receive a luxury aviator watch from the club,” Lloris told .
“At first, we were excited to see the elegant boxes. Then we opened them and discovered that he’d had the back of each timepiece engraved with the player’s name and ‘Champions League Finalist 2019’. ‘Finalist.’ Who does such a thing at a moment like this? I still haven’t got over it, and I’m not alone.
“If we’d won, he wouldn’t have asked for the watches back to have ‘Winner’ engraved instead. I have considerable respect and esteem for the man and all he has done for the club as chairman – I got to know him – but there are things he is simply not sensitive to. As magnificent as the watch is, I have never worn it.
“I would have preferred there to be nothing on it. With an engraving like that, Levy couldn’t have been surprised if we had been 1–0 down after a couple of minutes: so it was written.”
Lloris is not the only former Spurs player to speak out recently with Glenn Hoddle also questioning Levy’s involvement in the football side of things.

Lloris regularly slammed Tottenham’s performances
As the captain of the club, when Tottenham’s suffered a poor result, it would be Lloris who would face the media.
However, it was an occurrence which became far too frequent for some Spurs fans with the Frenchman often put in front of the cameras.
And Lloris admitted Postecoglou told him he’d never play again for Spurs after he joined the club last summer.
However, Guglielmo Vicario waxed lyrical about Lloris and the way the former Spurs captain for the way he welcomed him to the club.
