‘Huge blow’: Paul Robinson reacts to news coming out of Tottenham Hotspur this morning

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse for Tottenham this week, more bad news has emerged from north London.

Indeed, in a week where Micky Van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie have all had issues with injuries and suspensions, James Maddison has also had a problem he’s been dealing with.

Maddison had to come off against Chelsea with his injury on Monday evening, and, unfortunately, it looks like the midfielder could be out of action for a little while.

According to , Maddison’s injury is worse than Spurs first feared, and, as you can imagine, the Tottenham fanbase has gone into meltdown after this news emerged.

Former Spurs goalkeeper, Paul Robinson, has shared his thoughts on Maddison’s injury update on social media, and he says that this is a huge blow for Spurs.

Robinson is absolutely right, this is a huge blow for the north London club.

Make no mistake about it Maddison has been Tottenham’s very best player this season, and without him in the side, they could be a completely different side.

The midfielder is Spurs’ main creative outlet, and he’s been at the heart of almost everything positive Tottenham have done this season.

Worryingly, Tottenham don’t have a like-for-like replacement available to them within their squad at the moment, and without Maddison, the goals could very easily dry up for Spurs.

All week long, it’s looked like Tottenham’s defensive shortages could be the biggest issues Spurs have to contend with in the coming weeks, but now, all of a sudden, Spurs’ lack of creaitivity and attacking depth beyond Maddison is looking like a looming issue.

Ange Postecoglou has a lot on his plate at the moment, and it will be interesting to see how the Australian navigates all of these situations.
