How Twitter reacted to Liverpool leading the race for Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Liverpool are set to battle it out with Chelsea in an effort to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang according to .
The Blues have had several transfer woes this summer, most notably missing out on top-target Romelu Lukaku to their Premier League rivals Manchester United, but have now turned their attention to Aubamayeng.
The forward from Gabon has been a consistent goalscorer in German’s top division and in Europe for several seasons, and it is no wonder he has attracted the attention of top clubs including Chelsea.
Liverpool, however, are another side who are known to be interested in the 28-year-old, and a move to Merseyside would see the player reunited with ex-Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp.
The German was the man who brought Aubameyang to Dortmund from Saint-Etienne, and now it looks as though the charismatic manager could do the same in bringing the player to Anfield.
Any deal for the striker would cost in excess of £65 million, which, although it is a ridiculous amount of money, it seems to be the going rate in an increasingly inflated footballing market.
With the news, people inevitably have had their opinion on it, with many Liverpool fans taking to twitter expressing their happiness at being the leading club linked with Dortmund’s main man…

These fans felt the Gabonese man would take them to the top…
Liverpool should just go get VVD and Aubameyang and they could go get the PL next year.

If Liverpool get Aubameyang and Van Dijk they will be back in the mix.

Yet, some twitter users were adamant the deal was a complete impossibility…
