How Twitter reacted to Chelsea reported interest in Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero

A huge announcement was made on Monday as reported that Chelsea have a “serious and strong interest” in signing Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero.

The report suggests that Blues boss Antonio Conte is in the hunt for a new striker to replace Diego Costa and after missing out on Romelu Lukaku, who joined Manchester United, Aguero has become a target for the London club.

The Argentinian joins the likes of Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata, Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Torino’s Andrea Belotti on Chelsea’s list of targets.

The City striker, who has scored 169 goals for the club, would be very hard for Chelsea to attain, according to Sky Sports, with City reluctant to let him leave after six years and five trophies at the Etihad since joining from Atletico Madrid for £38 million in 2011.

Manchester City’s chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak also suggested that Aguero wouldn’t be sold, he said: “I’ve read a lot of the speculation on this and it’s ridiculous. Sergio Aguero is one of the best players in the world. We are a team that aspires to win every competition we compete in.”

He added: “Having Sergio Aguero as part of the squad is an absolute must. It has never been in doubt.”

Manager Pep Guardiola also echoed his chairman, telling reporters that “Every press conference [the question is asked]. Okay, guys. He will be [at City] next season. Happy? Good. Perfect.”

Despite City’s stance, the story still gathered a lot of reaction with fans speculating as to how likely the deal is and where Agüero could fit in at Stamford Bridge. Here’s how Twitter reacted:
