How Twitter reacted to Arsenal’s FA Cup final victory

Arsenal became the most successful club in FA Cup history – having won the trophy a record 12 times – as they outclassed Tim Sherwood’s Aston Villa at Wembley on Sunday. This result also means that Arsene Wenger is now the competition’s joint-most successful manager, having won the competition on six occasions.

While this may not go into history as one of the great finals, it will be remembered as one of the stand-out performances – it was a one sided affair, during which Villa barely had a sniff. The eventual winners dominated from start to finish, with goals from Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanchez, Per Mertesacker and Olivier Giroud earning them a 4-0 victory and back-to-back victories in England’s oldest knock-out tournament. It will be a weekend for Wenger to savour as his side takes another step on the road to fulfilling its fantastic potential.
