How Tottenham’s Radu Dragusin did for Romania as they drew with Northern Ireland last night
Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin was among a number of Tottenham players called up for international duty this week.
Dragusin signed for Tottenham in January for around . In recent weeks, he’s started to play a key role with Micky van de Ven once again struggling with an injury.
At just 22, Dragusin is already into double figures in terms of caps for his country, Romania.
And last night, Dragusin was in action for Romania as they took on Northern Ireland.
In the end, the game ended 1-1. But while the score wasn’t what Romania or the Tottenham defender wanted, Dragusin himself impressed with his own performance.

Radu Dragusin impresses for Romania against Northern Ireland
Despite not being the main event star at Tottenham just yet, it’s clear that Romania value Dragusin as one of their star men at the moment.
And last night against Northern Ireland, the 22-year-old produced a performance with a bit of everything.
In stats shared by the popular Spurs account , Dragusin covered a number of bases with his performance in defence.
The defender completed 94 of his 105 passes, 14 of which were completed into the final third. In terms of actual defending, he starred as well.
Dragusin made five clearances, won all five of his ground duels, and completed seven ball recoveries.
Indeed, it very much was a performance of high quality from the Tottenham man and one that Ange Postecoglou will have been delighted to see.
A big player for Tottenham’s future
There was a reason why Tottenham signed Radu Dragusin in the winter window and performances like this show just why.
At the moment, he might not be a regular in the starting XI at Tottenham but you get the feeling that over time, he will make a big push to be included a lot more.
Of course, both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are locked in for the time being. But a change to a back three in certain games might be possible with Dragusin and in recent weeks, he’s shown he can step into the back two as well.
Over time, as shown last night with this performance, Dragusin should prove a useful and good signing for Spurs.
