How Tottenham are planning to react to Dominic Solanke’s knee injury after learning how many weeks he could miss

TBR Football understands that Tottenham are hoping Dominic Solanke will be out for a maximum of six weeks with a knee injury, however, depending on rehab it could be nearer double that.

Solanke is understood to have suffered the issue in training and the news comes as a major blow for Ange Postecoglou’s team.

The 27-year-old has been a key player for Spurs this term and they have now lost yet another player to a lengthy injury.

With pivotal fixtures around the corner and Solanke now unavailable, the Lilywhites need to react and have been putting plans in place for the last weeks of the transfer window.

Tottenham want a new forward after Dominic Solanke’s injury

Tottenham are working to sign another forward this month following Dominic Solanke’s injury, sources have told TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.

Ange Postecoglou had been pushing for a new attacker before losing his centre forward and the club had already begun work on bringing one in.

Randal Kolo Muani was a player Tottenham looked to sign, however, the Frenchman opted to join Juventus despite Spurs’ really pushing to land him.

TBR Football can confirm that one player the North London club have been offered is Ajax’s Brian Brobbey who has also been linked with West Ham and Manchester United in their hunt for strikers.

Spurs are one of the several clubs who are interested in Yoane Wissa although Brentford don’t want to sell him this month, meanwhile, Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez has also been offered to Postecoglou.

What matches will Dominic Solanke miss?

Six weeks on the sidelines would mean that Solanke could miss up to eight matches in a potentially season-defining run of games.

The biggest blow is that he will almost certainly miss the trip to Anfield to face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg.

The striker will also be unavailable for around five Premier League matches against Leicester, Brentford, Man United, Ipswich and Man City.
