How much Tottenham are actually now paying to sign Radu Dragusin

Tottenham look set to seal their second January signing in the shape of Radu Dragusin.

It was touch-and-go for a little while as Bayern Munich tried to hijack this deal at the last minute, but now, it appears as though the Romanian is set to join Tottenham.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs made an increased offer for the player overnight, and now, Florian Plettenberg has shared just how much that offer is worth.

According to the Sky Germany reporter, Tottenham will be paying €31m (£27m) for the player.

£27m is a very decent deal for a 21-year-old defender who is playing so well in Serie A at the moment.

In this day and age, that is the type of fee that could prove to be an absolute bargain.

We’ve seen astronomical fees paid for young centre-backs in recent times such as Josko Gvardiol, but Spurs seem to have sniffed out a really reasonable deal here for Dragusin.

£27m isn’t a lot of money for a Premier League club these days, especially in a January transfer window where prices are already inflated.

Of course, only time will tell if Dragusin does prove to be a success or a bargain signing at Tottenham, but from the outset, it’s hard to argue that Spurs have overpaid for this transfer.

Tottenham certainly needed a new centre-back after injuries to both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in recent weeks exposed their lack of depth, and now, it would appear as though they’ve got their man.

Of course, the question is now whether or not Spurs have any money left in the kitty after spending £27m on Dragusin, and with rumours around other targets persisting, perhaps there could be one more transfer twist at Spurs before the deadline.

Tottenham have got a good deal here, and their spending this month may not be over yet.
