How much Florian Wirtz will earn at Liverpool after record-breaking £127m transfer

Liverpool are on the verge of announcing their second signing of the summer.

The Reds have already secured the signing of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen. They have also broken the British transfer record, with Liverpool agreeing a £127m deal for Florian Wirtz.

While Liverpool aren’t known for excessive spendings, when they have gone all-in on a player, it has often paid off, with the signings of Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk standing as prime examples.

Despite their recent activity, the Reds remain very disciplined with their wage structure.

Compared to clubs like Manchester City, Arsenal, and Manchester United, the majority of Liverpool’s squad are on relatively modest wages.

Florian Wirtz’s wages at Liverpool revealed

According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool will pay Wirtz in the region of £200,000 per week, making him the third-highest earner at the club once the deal is officially announced.

As per him, the reports suggesting higher wages are likely to be untrue, given Liverpool’s strict stance regarding their wage structure.

Only Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk will be ahead of the 22-year-old in Liverpool’s wage structure.

Salah signed a new contract with Liverpool in April, a two-year deal which will now sees him earn £400,000 per week.

Meanwhile, Van Dijk also signed a contract extension with Liverpool. He is the second-highest earner at the club, earning £350,000 per week.

Wirtz’s arrival will push Andy Robertson down to fourth on the wage list. The left-back is currently on £160,000 per week, but he is expected to leave the club this summer, with Atletico Madrid showing strong interest.

Ibrahima Konate has demanded a pay rise to stay at Liverpool

Ibrahima Konate, who is one of Liverpool’s best defenders at the club, is currently on just £70,000 per week.

Which is why it is not surprising to see Konate demanding a significant pay rise at Liverpool in order to sign a new contract.

It is reported that the Frenchman is seeking a salary close to what the club offered Trent Alexander-Arnold, which was close to .

This is indicative of the kind of pay he is seeking in order to sign a new deal with the club. However, there have been suggestions that the demand from the centre-back is his way to stall the contract talks.

Real Madrid are keen on signing Konate, and previous reports have suggested that the Spanish giants could be looking to repeat their Trent strategy to sign him on a free next summer.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool and Konate can reach an agreement over a new deal. If the player does not sign a new contract, it is likely that he will be sold by the Reds this summer in order to avoid a Trent-like situation.
