How much Erling Haaland is set to be paid every week as he signs record-breaking contract at Man City
TBR Football can confirm that Erling Haaland has finalised a record-breaking nine-and-a-half-year contract at Manchester City.
The Norway international moved to the Etihad from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022 in a deal worth £51 million. He has been integral for them over the last two seasons.
The striker’s contract was set to end in 2027, and TBR previously revealed that Barcelona were keen to sign Haaland.
Now, City have secured their number nine’s future in a deal which will keep him at the club until 2034.
Erling Haaland’s wages after he signs new Manchester City contract
TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Haaland has finalised his new contract with Manchester City and it is the biggest deal in Premier League history.
We are told that Haaland’s basic wage will see him become the first footballer in England to earn in excess of £500,000-a-week.
But, with bonuses and image right contributions, he would get close to Kylian Mbappe’s Real Madrid salary which including bonuses is understood to be around £750,000-a-week and makes him the highest-paid player in Europe.
Haaland’s extraordinary deal will see it span a massive nine-and-a-half years, taking the 24-year-old’s contract to the summer of 2034.
City sources are insistent that previous clauses that were in his old deal and has been delaying the signing of his current contract have been removed. But, we can confirm that there are ‘new’ release clauses but they are not due to be active until much later in the deal.
TBR understands that the new clauses would not be valid until halfway through this new contract. Even when they become active, they would stand at well in excess of £100 million.

The top 10 highest-paid players in the Premier League
Before his new deal, Haaland was pocketing £375,000-a-week at Manchester City.
The Norwegian’s teammate, Kevin De Bruyne, was the only player in the Premier League who earned a more lucrative salary.
