How Manchester City’s players rated in their FA Cup thrashing of West Ham
Bacary Sagna – Had a superb all-round game at London Stadium, particularly in the first-half, and kept the over-lapping threat of Aaron Cresswell quiet throughout. Made City’s second goal with a superb bombing run down the right, putting in the dream cross for Sterling. 7.
Nicolas Otamendi – Struggled for the first 30 minutes with West Ham’s high press, but had an easier game after City’s late first-half show. Kept Antonio firmly quiet in the second-half as the Hammers looked for a response, and showed good composure and leadership at the back. 7.
John Stones – Was this the game Stones announced himself as a Man City player? The 22-year-old had a flawless match, with the most touches (135) and most passes (125) of any player on the pitch and an accuracy of 93.6%. Kept the aerial threats of Antonio and Carroll extremely anonymous for the 90 minutes, and topped it off with his first City goal. Very mature performance. 8.
Gael Clichy – Feghouli exploited City’s left-side in the first-half and Feghouli had a lot of joy against him, finding plenty of time and space on a wide London Stadium pitch. Other than that had an uneventful match as City ran riot at the other end of the field. 6.
