How French media rated Adrien Rabiot in Euro 2024 loss to Spain amid Arsenal links
Arsenal are likely to be busy on the transfer front in the coming weeks as Edu and Mikel Arteta look to bolster their ranks ahead of next season.
The Gunners have made progress over the past few years and will be eager to continue building a squad that can win major trophies.
Midfield is an area Arsenal could do with strengthening amid seemingly uncertain futures for the likes of Thomas Partey, Fabio Vieira and Albert Sambi Lokonga.
Plenty of top midfield talents have been linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium, including arguably one of the most highly sought-after free agents on the market.
However, said player didn’t do particularly well in his latest international outing as his nation was knocked out at the semi-final stage.

Adrien Rabiot struggles as France lose to Spain in Euro 2024 semi-final
The player in question is Adrien Rabiot, who is currently a free agent after his Juventus contract expired at the end of June.
reported in June that Arsenal are set to provide the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Aston Villa with competition for the France international.
However, the Gunners – and their fellow Premier League suitors – may be running out of luck, as recent speculation suggests Rabiot wants to join Real Madrid.
Arsenal may not quite be out of the race just yet, but any Gunners scouts keeping tabs on Tuesday night’s game between France and Spain won’t have been too impressed by Rabiot.
Admittedly, Rabiot wasn’t the worst on the pitch for Les Bleus in his 62 minutes on the pitch, and the French media wasn’t too harsh on him.
“He had a lot to do in midfield,” wrote . “Never gave up the fight. A few good runs to often find Mbappe. But too messy in his last pass.”
Meanwhile, wrote: “He had a difficult time finding his place.
“Concentrating on the left wing where he had to help (Lucas) Hernandez frame (Lamine) Yamal, Rabiot opened up spaces in the axis with his very uncertain positioning.
“And the young Catalan, to whom he left too much space on the action, made him dance with his dribbling on the Spanish equalizer.
“He forgot Mbappe on a transition and took a nasty tackle in the match which explains, perhaps, his performance as he seemed to suffer so much.”
As for UK-based media, BBC Sport pundit Jermaine Jenas said on during the game: “I definitely think Rabiot has struggled in the midfield this evening.”
Rabiot remains a highly sought-after free transfer
As Rabiot is a free transfer, Arsenal will probably not hesitate to make a move should they get the opportunity.
At PSG, he won six Ligue 1 titles, four French Cups, five French League Cups and four French Super Cups.
Meanwhile, Rabiot lifted one Serie A title, two Italian Cups and one Italian Super Cup while at Juve, and for France, he won the 2021 Nations League trophy.
Juve and France icon David Trezeguet spoke highly of the reported Arsenal target back in 2022.
He told Football Italia, via : “He is world class, an extraordinary player.”
However, with so much competition, including from the likes of Real Madrid, Arsenal may have a difficult job on their hands.
