How Erling Haaland reacted after seeing Pape Matar Sarr score for Tottenham vs Man City

Tottenham Hotspur have secured themselves a spot in the quarter finals of the Carabao Cup with their victory over Manchester City.

Both Ange Postecoglou and Pep Guardiola fielded rotated sides on Wednesday night in north London with Tottenham prevailing in the end.

Timo Werner returned to the Spurs starting XI and opened the scoring with his first goal of the season before Pape Matar Sarr doubled the advantage.

💖Despite a goal late in the first half from the visitors, Tottenham were able to hang on to the win as they secured themselves a home tie against Manchester United.

🐻Spurs may hold an impressive record against Guardiola’s side in north London but Erling Haaland’s reaction to Sarr’s goal said it all as he watched on from the bench.

How Erling Haaland reacted to Pape Matar Sarr’s Tottenham goal

💦It was a stunning finish from the Tottenham midfielder to provide them with a two-goal advantage inside the first half.

🔴And according to journalist Ryan Taylor, Haaland and his Manchester City teammate Bernardo Silva were both left looking ‘speechless’ after seeing the finish from Sarr.

♔Postecoglou has been wowed by the £15m Sarr’s work rate༒ in the past but he has not exactly built a reputation in front of goal.

♓And it really was some finish with from around 25-yards out as he curled it inside the Stefan Ortega’s near post from a well-worked corner.

𒐪The goal on Wednesday night was just Sarr’s sixth for the club but there will be little doubt that it was his best one to date.

Carabao Cup quarter finals draw

𝔍Having beaten City in the cup, Spurs must now go all out to get their hands on the League Cup and end their trophy drought.

ꦑHowever, there are still some seriously strong sides left in the competition for Tottenham to potentially come up against with an all-Premier League lineup in the quarter final draw.

🍌Spurs fans will be looking at the likes of Newcastle, Liverpool and Arsenal in those other fixtures and be hoping for a major upset.

🍰However, the Lilywhites still need to get past the Red Devils who they have already beaten 3-0 on the road in the Premier League this season.
