How could Lewis Cook’s injury impact Tottenham’s interest in £30 million move?
Lewis Cook has suffered a major blow as it was revealed that he has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, which could keep him on the sidelines for as long as six to nine months.
It comes following interest from Tottenham with have recently claimed that the club are keen to up their game following an interest in a £30 million move in the summer, according to the .
The central midfielder could well have added depth to the Spurs’ squad and would likely have been on Mauricio Pochettino’s radar had he been available in January, though that now seems unlikely to happen.
The greater concern for Cook may be that come next summer and the next transfer window, Tottenham could be reluctant to invest so significantly in a player who has suffered such a serious injury so soon after his return.
Pochettino is said to be keen on Cook given that he has experience playing in a Bournemouth system which has many similarities to his own set-up at Tottenham, though that benefit will fade with Cook unlikely to play before the start of next season.
