How Arsenal can still beat Liverpool to the Premier League despite the 2-2 draw vs Crystal Palace
Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes took another major blow on Wednesday night as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Crystal Palace at the Emirates.
The result puts Liverpool within touching distance of the trophy, while the Gunners now face an uphill, near-impossible battle to stay in the race.
The Gunners made the perfect start to the game, scoring inside 5 minutes from a set-piece, brilliantly headed in by Jakub Kiwior.
Palace got back level near the half-hour mark with a brilliant set-piece of their own courtesy of a fantastic volleyed finish from the Arsenal linked Eberechi Eze.

And while Leandro Trossard restored the Gunners’ lead, Jean-Philippe Mateta came off the bench late in the game, capitalising on a mistake from Saliba and equalising with a stunning finish to make it 2-2.
While the draw means the Merseyside giants are just one point away from winning the Premier League title, Arsenal are mathematically still in the title race.
Arsenal can still win the Premier League
The dropped points from Mikel Arteta’s side means if they win the rest of the four remaining games, the maximum number of points they can achieve is 79.
Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
1 | 33 | 24 | 7 | 2 | 75 | 31 | 44 | 79 | |
2 | 34 | 18 | 13 | 3 | 63 | 29 | 34 | 67 |
That will see them level on points with Liverpool, who have a better goal difference (44) compared to Arsenal (34).
For Arsenal to lift the Premier League trophy, they now need a miracle: win all their remaining fixtures, hope Liverpool lose all theirs, and overturn a significant goal difference.
It’s a scenario that, while technically possible, is extremely unlikely—especially given Liverpool’s dominant form this season.
Arne Slot’s side could even secure the title this Sunday at Anfield with a win or a draw against a struggling Tottenham side.
Arsenal set eyes on Champions League glory
While the Premier League looks out of sight for the Gunners, they still have a very good chance to finish the season on a high.
With Arsenal dismantling Real Madrid over two legs, the Gunners have firmly established themselves as one of the genuine favourites to reach the Champions League final. Next, they face a formidable challenge against an in-form PSG side led by Luis Enrique.
Should they overcome PSG, a showdown against either Inter Milan or Barcelona awaits in the final. It won’t be easy, but Arsenal have shown this season that on their day, they can beat anyone.
While the Premier League dream may have ended, the Gunners still have a golden opportunity to end the season with silverware—and perhaps even their greatest ever triumph on the European stage.
