How are Arsenal likely to line-up after the summer transfer window?
Arsene Wenger is set for his 22nd season managing Arsenal after signing a two-year contract extension, following what was a turbulent few months for the London club.
With the Frenchman in charge for another season, what will the Gunners’ starting line-up look like in the 2017/18 season?
They are likely to stick with the 3-4-2-1 formation that helped in turning around what was a fairly miserable season.
They won nine of the ten games playing in this system, including an FA Cup final victory against Chelsea which saw them lift the trophy for the thirteenth time.
Defence
Arsenal’s back-three will likely be made up of English youngster Rob Holding, German World Cup winner Shkodran Mustafi and the trusted Laurent Koscielny.
The security that this system provides really benefitted Wenger’s side towards the back end of last season.
Meanwhile, Petr Cech has to be the man between the sticks, with the experienced keeper heading into his fourteenth season in the Premier League.

Midfield
The London club commenced their summer transfer business with the acquisition of Schalke left-back Sead Kolasinac.
The Bosnian will most likely occupy the left-wing back role but his flexibility also means he could help in the back three, should there be injuries or suspensions suffered there.
On the other side, Hector Bellerin takes up the right wing-back role – his pace is an important asset in this Gunners side. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain played in this spot towards the end of the season, but, as reported by the , he has been heavily linked with a £25 million move to Liverpool this summer as Arsenal look to lower their wage bill.
As for the midfield two, Granit Xhaka will be hoping to build upon what was a mixed first season in the Premier League and he is likely to partner Aaron Ramsey.
The Welshman was blighted by injury last season and will be hoping to return to his top form, where he was both assisting and scoring goals.

Attack
A three-pronged attack will see star-men Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil behind a striker.
Despite both players only having one year left on their contract, they look set to stay at Arsenal. Wenger and the club will surely be doing all they can to keep hold of them.
Last season, the duo alone contributed directly to 55 of Arsenal’s 77 goals in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, up-top, Alexandre Lacazette will lead the line with his pace, skill, and goal-scoring ability.
The Gunners’ interest in the French striker is no secret, have suggested a £50 million deal will soon be finalised, and what a signing and statement of intent it would be if the club were able to get the transfer over the line.
