How Alexis Sanchez could prevent Tottenham from signing Ivan Perisic
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to take advantage of Bayern Munich’s decision to not activate their buying option on Croatian winger Ivan Perisic.
, Tottenham are keen on the player who could be available for just £13.5 million.
Jose Mourinho is known to be a massive fan of the player and was openly pursuing his signature at Manchester United back in 2017.
United came up a few million short of a potential £50 million deal for the player in 2017. A year later, whilst covering the World Cup where Perisic helped Croatia to the final, Mourinho confessed his admiration for the player.
“I don’t know why he didn’t come to Manchester when I wanted him,” Mourinho told Russia Today, whilst acting as a pundit. “Perisic is the kind of winger that is different to others. Normally you look at wingers and they are just fast and creative. But he is also physical, very physical, fantastic in the air.“

Now, it appears he has a real chance to sign Perisic at Tottenham. However, a former United signing of his might provide a major stumbling block.
Namely, that stumbling block may prove to be Alexis Sanchez.
The Chilean, a former Tottenham rival at Arsenal, is currently on loan with the Nerazzurri from United. suggests that United are also keen on Perisic and could offer Sanchez in exchange for the player, with the Chilean forward starting to rediscover his best form once again.
So Mourinho’s attempts to bring in a player he has wanted for years to Tottenham could end up being scuppered by a former signing who just so happens to be a major Tottenham rival of the past.
