‘Horrible’…John Aldridge says £67m Manchester United player is a big problem at Old Trafford
Liverpool face Manchester United today and former Red John Aldridge has stoked the fires by branding Bruno Fernandes a ‘horrible’ captain.
Fernandes will miss the game with Liverpool today through suspension. The Portuguese midfielder has been one of the star players at Old Trafford ever since his .
However, he has come under scrutiny from pundits and fans since being made skipper. Fernandes has been widely slammed for complaining a lot to referees. Indeed, Tim Sherwood has suggested this weekend that Erik ten Hag needs to be a tad harsher with his captain.

And fanning the flames further for, former Liverpool goal scorer John Aldridge has said that United will be better off without Fernandes today.
“For me, United captain Bruno Fernandes is another problem that they could do without at Old Trafford.
“Don’t get me wrong, he is a great player when he has time and space to weave his magic. But he is a horrible captain and I think United might be better off without him at Anfield as he misses this match due to suspension. Fernandes moans, groans and dives his way through matches. He is constantly in the ear of the referee and sets a negative tone around this team when things start going wrong,” Aldridge said.
Bruno Fernandes gets more Manchester United criticism
Nothing like being straight to the point!
Aldridge hasn’t held back at all here and there’ll be a lot of United fans who agree with his assessment as well.
It will definitely be interesting to see how United get on without Fernandes today. It did stink a bit that he got himself booked last week and is now missing a massive game.
But, it opens the door for others and it’s a real chance for another player to leave their mark on a huge game.
If the Red Devils go get a big performance today and somehow win, then there’ll be a lot of fingers pointed at Fernandes, that’s for sure.
