‘Horrendous’, ‘joke’: Some Celtic fans fuming over 69th-minute moment in Leverkusen clash
A number of Celtic fans have criticised the yellow card shown to Hoops defender Cameron Carter-Vickers in the Europa League tonight.
The Bhoys defender has been a shrewd addition to Ange Postecoglou’s side, joining on loan from Spurs in the summer.
Carter-Vickers has made 16 appearances for Celtic this term and was in action as the Hoops faced Bayer Leverkusen away tonight.

The 23-year-old made numerous crucial inverventions as Celtic withstood plenty of Leverkusen pressure throughout the first half.
Celtic were level at the break as Josip Juranovic’s Panenka penalty cancelled out Robert Andrich’s opener.
The Hoops then took the lead in the 56th minute as Jota fired a fantastic left-foot strike across the keeper into the far corner of the net.
However, Carter-Vickers was controversially shown a yellow card in the 69th minute for a foul on Florian Wirtz.
This will rule him out for the final group game against Betis.
Here is what some Celtic fans made of the booking:
That’s a horrendous decision to book CCV for that.

Will miss the final game against Real Betis now.
Angeball is brilliant win, lose or draw this match. Give him a 3 year deal now or we will lose him. CCV yellow was a joke there.

How is that a booking for CCV?

Nonsense yellow card for CCV and that’s him out of Betis
— The Cynic (@90MinuteCynic)
On what world was that a yellow card for CCV 😂😂
— SK (@shaunkennedy97)
Softest booking ever for CCV. Shame he misses the Betis game too
— Paul McGinley (@PaulMcG1994)
That booking for CCV is utterly ridiculous, ref has had a howler there, don’t even think it was a foul.

Celtic were unable to hold onto their lead and subsequently conceded twice more to go out of the Europa League.
Andrich grabbed a second and Moussa Diaby netted a late winner for the hosts.
