‘His movement’s a joke’: Pundit absolutely amazed by £6m Arsenal player after watching him live

Anton Ferdinand has lauded Gabriel Martinelli and suggested that the Arsenal star’s movement is actually a joke.

The pundit was speaking on as the panel discussed the Premier League team of the season as the end of the campaign looms.

Of course, the team is likely to contain plenty of Arsenal players after what has been an amazing season for Mikel Arteta’s side. They remain in contention to win the Premier League title. And they will be back in the Champions League next year.

What does not seem to be spoken about enough is the fact that Gabriel Martinelli has spent the large majority of the campaign as the Gunners’ top goalscorer.

Martinelli was left out of the EA team of the season, with Mohamed Salah and Marcus Rashford joining Erling Haaland in the forward line.

And clearly, Ferdinand had a problem with the omission, suggesting that the Brazilian has done enough to get in the team.

“Martinelli on the eye, watching him live, he’s top. He’s so sharp, his movement’s a joke. His movement’s always trying to hurt you,” .

Many have been talking about the fees Arsenal paid for Martin Odegaard or Aaron Ramsdale recently. And there is absolutely no question that those players have proved to be bargain additions.

But it cannot be said enough that Arsenal signed Gabriel Martinelli for . They spent more on Nuno Tavares.

If the Gunners surprised everyone and decided to let the youngster leave – Martinelli, that is – they could demand an absolutely massive fee. And there would only be a handful of clubs able to afford him.

Certainly, plenty of Arsenal fans will be baffled if Martinelli misses out on the team of the season.
