‘Him’… Striker lauds Tottenham loanee on Instagram after performance yesterday; Ryan Sessegnon also reacts

Ryan Sessegnon was amongst those to laud Japhet Tanganga on Instagram after the Tottenham Hotspur loanee scored the winning goal for Millwall in their clash with Birmingham City on Saturday.

The Lions have put some much-needed distance between themselves and the bottom three in the Championship. They have now won three of their last four games in the league, with Neil Harris making a superb start since returning as manager.

It did appear that their clash with the Blues at The Den would end in a goalless draw. However, Japhet Tanganga headed home a 90th minute winner for the home side to move them five points clear of the bottom three.

Japhet Tanganga lauded after Millwall win

It has been a brilliant loan spell for the 24-year-old so far. Tanganga has featured in all but one of the Lions’ Championship games. And he also scored the opening goal in the surprise 2-1 win over Southampton last month.

Unsurprisingly, many have lauded Tanganga on following the victory, with Michael Obafemi perhaps coming up with the best response to his teammate’s post…

Tottenham loanee proving a point

It does appear that Tanganga’s future lies away from Tottenham. He turns 25 later this month, so he is not exactly a youngster finding his way in the game.

Ange Postecoglou has put plenty of faith in younger players since his appointment. So it did appear ominous that he was happy to let him leave on loan.

Tanganga’s time at Augsburg did not work out at all. But things are looking much better at Millwall.

Tanganga has shown that he is a very decent performer at Championship level. The Lions have conceded just two goals in the last four games. And it would now be a surprise if they fell out of the second tier this season.

Certainly, Tanganga is doing all he can right now to ensure that he attracts a number of offers when the summer transfer window arrives.
