Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has acknowledged the scale of Ross McCrorie’s turnaround under his leadership,
Gerrard is without the youngster for tonight’s trip to Cowdenbeath, and has recently batted away a loan offer from Dundee for his services – such is the high regard he holds him in.
He : “Ross McCrorie is going nowhere. When we came in, we inherited a player that was hurt mentally. He’d had a tough time in certain games last season and his confidence was affected.
“He’s worked extremely hard on the training pitch and he’s getting better. His last four or five performances have been immense, not just the Old Firm game. He’s got an incredible future here – a potential future captain – and he won’t be going anywhere else than Rangers.”

That is quite the transformation for McCrorie and it is testament to both his hard work and Gerrard’s man-management skills that he is now seen as a future captain of the club.
He is the type of player the supporters want to see come through the ranks but has experienced some of the teething problems youngsters often experience.
It happens, but it’s all about how well a player can come through those problems and Gerrard clearly feels the future is bright for McCrorie.
