Heung-min Son says two Tottenham players have been ‘doing a great job’ recently

Results are starting to become quite patchy for Tottenham and Heung-min Son amid an inconsistent run of form.

Ange Postecoglou has overseen two losses, three wins and a draw from Tottenham’s last six Premier League outings, as the push for UEFA Champions League qualification becomes something of a rollercoaster with plenty of ups and downs.

Despite the inconsistent form, there are two Tottenham players who Heung-min Son has been very impressed by…

Well, when people talk about partnerships in football, they usually speak about defenders or strikers.

Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch created a strike pairing for the ages thank to their vastly different physiques, while the duo of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen will be remembered at Tottenham for many years.

However, Son actually highlighted a chemistry between two wingers after the 1-1 draw against West Ham on Tuesday, singling Brennan Johnson and Timo Werner out for praise.

The South Korea international is by the Evening Standard as saying: “The way we approach the game, the wingers are very important, staying wide and being in the right position. Timo and Brennan are doing a great job, both understanding each other.”

It is clear that both the Welshman and the German have stepped up since the start of March.

There is plenty of room for both Werner and Johnson to improve even more, although the pair have been doing the business lately.

Since the start of March, the RB Leipzig loanee – who would like to join Spurs permanently – has scored goals and provided one assist in five Premier League appearances.

In regards to Johnson, the Tottenham No.22 has registered goals and three assists in five Premier League games.

It will take a big push to shove Aston Villa out of fourth place, but if Werner and the Wales international can maintain this level of performance, Tottenham might just do it.
