‘He’s wonderful’: Pundit values Rangers man linked with £15m Leeds move at £25m
As Ryan Kent continues to be linked with a move to Leeds United, a man with experience of both Elland Road and Scotland’s top tier has been singing his praises.
A report in the claims Leeds are set to make a third attempt at signing the 24-year-old, with a figure of £15 million quoted for the Rangers winger.
Having spent six years at Leeds as a player and four at Celtic as a manager, Gordon Strachan is well-placed to comment on Kent’s current and possible future environs.
He believes £25 million would be a more appropriate figure if the Englishman does end up swapping the Premiership for the Premier League.
Speaking to , Strachan said: “Kent is wonderful, he can do things. I saw somebody saying that he is not worth £25 million but I think he could be worth £25 million.
“He can eliminate players and when I look at players Leeds have got, they have got Raphinha, who can eliminate players and still work hard, they are at £25m so I don’t see why he can’t be in that group.
“I would like to see the goals he has scored this season but I have been told that the last one he scored was an excellent hit.
“And it looks like he can take information in, which is great”.
Kent arrived at Ibrox in July 2018 on loan from Liverpool, becoming one of Steven Gerrard’s first signings.
He went on to make his move permanent 14 months later in a deal worth £6.5 million.
