‘He’s so instrumental’: Former PL striker once labelled reported Arsenal target a ‘chief creator’

Cameron Jerome once heaped praise on reported Arsenal target Emiliano Buendia, claiming the Norwich City playmaker is the chief creator for the Norfolk outfit.

According to , the Gunners are stepping up their interest in the Argentine ace, who proves to be an alternative to Martin Odegaard with Mikel Arteta  eyeing up a move for a creative player ahead of the 2021/2022 season.

No offer has gone in for the star, who has been scouted on a number of occasions by the north London giants since his move to the East Anglian side three years ago.

Speaking about Buendia during an appearance on , the former Canaries man claimed that the ace holds a special relationship with teammate Teemu Pukki.

Jerome said: “I think he’s so instrumental to what Norwich do, especially his relationship with Pukki, you can see that in the amount of goals Pukki scores, Buendia is the chief creator of all these chances.”

TBR View: Buendia would prove far too expensive for the Gunners

On the face of it, signing Buendia would be a master stroke given the midfielder’s experience in England and the Premier League especially.

His ability really does make him an attractive prospect for the number 10 role at Arsenal, however, it’s become noticeable over the last few years that players from England carry a large tax when it comes to transfers.

Fernando Torres, Riyadh Mahrez, N’golo Kante, Virgil van Dijk and many more, there are far too many examples of clubs having to reach deep into their pockets in order to land players from within the country.

Whilst Buendia possesses immeasurable talent that makes him a great transfer target, the fact he plays for a Norwich City side who have just earned promotion to the Premier League makes him a valuable asset in the eyes of the Carrow Road outfit.

He would fetch a huge fee and with Arsenal struggling financially due to the recent Coronavirus pandemic, there is little chance of the club wasting away their entire budget on one player.
