‘He’s ready’… Liverpool told 42-year-old manager could easily replace Jurgen Klopp if he quits
Richard Keys has given his verdict on whether or not Xabi Alonso is ready to become the new manager of Liverpool.
The beIN SPORT presenter has said that the Bayer Leverkusen boss is perfect for Manchester United.
So, what has Richard Keys said about Xabi Alonso and Liverpool? Let’s take a look.
Xabi Alonso tipped to become Liverpool manager if Jurgen Klopp leaves
Well, Richard Keys believes that Xab🍌i Alonso is ready to become the new manager of Liverpool.
The former Sky Sports presenter has also urged Manchester United to get rid of Erik ten Hag as their manager and bring in former Real Madrid and Liverpool midfield⛦er ꩲAlonso.
Alonso is now in cha♕rge of Bayer Leverkusen at the moment. The German club could end up beating Bayer🦋n Munich to the Bundesliga title this season.
Keys has said that if Klopp decided to🍸 leave Liverpool ✤at the end of the season, then the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners would go and get Alonso.
The beIN SPORT presenter has said that the 42-year-old former Spain international midfielder is re🐬ady to take over at Liverpool.
Keys wrote on his : “I’d go and get Xav💧i Alonso. I’d offer him Saudi league money and guarantee him five yea😼rs in charge.
“He’s about the only way Utd will ever re-join the elite group and he’d give them a chance of attracting big names to the club agꦇain – not ageing mis-fits and ba🍒bies.
“I floated this theඣory on air this past weekend and had a hard time selling it. ‘He’s not ready’ I was told. Really?
“Let me ask th꧒is – if Klopp quit at the end of the season who would Liverpool want to appoint? Exactly. Alonso. Of course he’s ready.”
Let’s not get carried away with Xabi Alonso
I do not think that we should get carried away with Xabi Alonso just yet. Yes, he has done well as the Ba꧟yer Leverkusenꦜ boss so far, but let us give him some time and see how he fares.
Liverpoo𝔉l and Real Madrid are reportedly looking at the 42-year-old as a potential managerial candidate, but I would urge ca🔜ution.
After all, Alonso has been in charge of Bayer only since October 2022. True, he has done a great job so far, but he is the manager of a club who are the ‘underdogs’ when it comes to the Bundesli💝ga title race against Bayern.
At Liverpool and espe൩cially Madrid, as Alonso w𓆉ould know, there is huge pressure to win every game.
