‘He’s our player’: Graham Potter believes Leeds United loanee Ben White is ‘100 percent’ ready for Premier League
Brighton and Hove Albion manager Graham Potter has again been talking about talented defender Ben White, who has just spent the season on loan at Leeds United.
The 22-year-old defender has been a revelation at Elland Road and he ended his Leeds loan spell in style by scoring a sumptuous volley against Charlton Athletic to net his first goal for the club.
But his form at Leeds has not gone unnoticed and the Seagulls now have full plans to give White a chance at first-team football next season at the Amex.

“Absolutely 100 percent,” the Brighton boss when asked if White was ready for the Premier League. “Yeah, I am (confident he well stay). He’s our player, he’s got a long contract with us. I have known Ben for a while, I have been aware of him, wanted to try and sign him when we were at Swansea.
“I know about his qualities. He’s a fantastic player. He’s done brilliantly at Leeds and helped them get promotion. That’s fantastic for them, fantastic for him but he’s our player and we’re looking forward to working with him.”
Potter’s comments just double down on his previous stance regarding White, that he is not for sale this summer and Leeds will not be getting him back.
Brighton often play with a back three, meaning White could easily find himself getting regular football alongside a combination of Lewis Dunk, Adam Webster, or Shane Duffy.
Leeds United fans will undoubtedly agree with Potter about White being ready for the Premier League. After his stunning season in the Championship, many have suggested he is even ready for an England opportunity.
Unfortunately for Leeds, it appears he will not be playing that Premier League football at Elland Road and Victor Orta has a big job on finding a replacement for this key man.
