‘He’s made his mind up’: Sherwood says ‘incredible’ player Tottenham reportedly want has decided to leave

Tim Sherwood came on this week and had his say on reported Tottenham Hotspur target Youri Tielemans.

The Leicester City midfielder has been one of their stars over the last few years. He really impressed when he initially joined the club on loan from Monaco, and he has gone from strength to strength since that move was made permanent in the following summer.

Tielemans, ‘ by Brendan Rodgers, will enter the final year of his contract this summer. Leicester have tried to tie him down to a new deal, but it is looking increasingly likely that he will leave at the end of this season.

A number of clubs have been linked with a move for the Belgian international, including Antonio Conte’s Tottenham.

Tim Sherwood: Tottenham-linked Youri Tielemans wants to leave Leicester

revealed last month that Tottenham are interested in signing Tielemans for a bargain fee in the summer transfer window.

The report even claimed that Conte and co view the Belgian as a more prominent target than Cristian Eriksen, who has also been linked with a move to Tottenham.

Speaking about Tielemans, Sherwood said: “There are a lot of players who will stale there (at Leicester).

“A lot of them running down their contracts like Tielemans, he’s obviously made his mind up that he wants away from there.”

Tottenham’s attack is among the best in the Premier League, while their defence is slowly shaping up to be a solid one since Cristian Romero’s arrival. The problem area for Conte is midfield.

After Tanguy Ndombele, Dele Alli and Giovani Lo Celso were allowed to leave the club, Tottenham don’t really have a midfielder who is a constant attacking threat. Tielemans will solve that problem instantly.

The Leicester City man can play in all three central midfield positions and has consistently been one of the best midfielders in the country over the last few years.

He would immensely improve Tottenham’s midfield if they can get him, which makes a move a no-brainer in the upcoming summer transfer window.
