‘He’s got everything’, ‘destined for the top’: Sky pundit in awe of Arsenal-linked £9m sharpshooter
Celtic striker and reported Arsenal target Odsonne Edouard has been highly praised by pundit Kris Boyd.
According to , the Gunners are interested in the 22-year-old, who has registered a sensational 60 goals and 31 assists in 126 Hoops appearances.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta reportedly plans to bolster his ranks this summer amid an uncertain Emirates Stadium future for two of their main frontmen, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
Edouard has claimed 27 goals and 19 assists this season, helping Celtic move 13 points clear ahead of closest rivals Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership table before the season was suspended.
The Frenchman has played for Celtic since the summer of 2017, when he initially joined on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, and joined the Bhoys permanently the following year for a club record £9million ().
Boyd may be a Rangers legend but despite the strong rivaly between the Ibrox club and their Parkhead counterparts, he gives credit where credit’s due when it comes to the Hoops sharpshooter.
“He’s the outstanding player in the league – a class apart,” Boyd told . “There’s talk of him going to a mid-table team in England but he should just cut them out and go straight to the top with any of the big guns.
“He’s got everything. He glides past defenders as if they are not there. He’s got skill, although perhaps one criticism can be his finishing, he tries to place everything in the corners. He’s not from the same finishing school as someone like Leigh Griffiths but in terms of the all round package, he’s the best player in Scotland.
“Yes, he has the supply line from his team-mates but you’ve got to get into those positions. He’ll go right to the top in England – he doesn’t need to prove himself in that regard. If I was Celtic I would hold out for a record-breaking fee as he’ll surpass the £20m for Moussa Dembele. He’s destined for the top.”

Celtic’s record signing has been nothing short of sensational since arriving at Parkhead and his £9million fee seems a snip now, but surely it’s now only a matter of time before he ups sticks and heads to one of Europe’s elite clubs.
Arsenal have endured a difficult season and, with questions over the futures of both Aubameyang and Lacazette, Arteta is likely to dip into the market for a new frontman.
Scotland’s pundits are running out of superlatives to send Edouard’s way, and his scoring and assisting record speaks for itself – he is ready for a big career move, and Arsenal, a club eager to get back to the top table, seems like a great fit for him.
