‘He’s got all the talent in the world’: Chris Wood backs one Newcastle player to become absolutely world-class
Newcastle United forward Chris Wood has lauded Magpies teammate Allan Saint-Maximin on .
The 30-year-old believes his colleague has what it takes to potentially become one of the best in the world.
Saint-Maximin has endured a frustrating season so far, with injury causing him to miss many of Newcastle’s games.

However, the 25-year-old has gradually returned to action in recent weeks.
He came off the bench to provide an assist for Bruno Guimaraes in Newcastle’s 4-1 win over Southampton.
With the World Cup now putting a halt to the season, Saint-Maximin will look to kick on ahead of the restart.
Speaking to Eurosport about his team-mates, Wood said: “Well, we’ve got a lot of good players here. Allan is definitely one of them.
“He shows a lot of talent on the pitch and on the training pitch. He has the potential to go as high as he wants to go.”
Wood was then asked whether he felt Saint-Maximin could become a Ballon d’Or contender.
“It will be the mental side of the application because he’s got all the talent in the world and he’s just got to bring that all together,” he replied.
“I think he’s got it. But it’s all down to him now. So yeah, in the future, he could be up there as one of the best in the world playing, and hopefully the French national team soon.
“It’s down to him to put his mind to it and achieve it, and I know he’s got the drive that he wants to do that. It’s just that the hardest thing is always doing it.”

The stage is set for Saint-Maximin – TBR View
Saint-Maximin has lit up Newcastle since his move in 2019, when the Magpies were a shadow of their current selves.
Now, with Newcastle fighting for a top-four place, he has the potential to really kick on.
And better still, the Magpies don’t have to worry as much about bigger clubs poaching him.
If Newcastle make it into the Champions League and start challenging for silverware, why would he want to leave?
