‘He’s gone’: Ian Wright thinks Arsene Wenger signing’s Arsenal career is now finished
Arsenal legend Ian Wright has claimed that Mesut Ozil’s career at the Emirates Stadium is over in wake of Mikel Arteta snubbing him once again.
Ozil is yet to play a single minute for the Gunners since the restart of Premier League season, and he was left out entirely for Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Tuesday night.
There were hopes from some fans that Ozil would be involved against Liverpool after the Gunners shared a picture of him in training, along with a tweet from Ozil himself , with the caption: “I AM READY.”

However, he didn’t feature, he remains frozen out by Arteta, and with little sign of a comeback on the cards, Wright believes that Ozil’s time at Arsenal is pretty much over whether he stays or goes this summer.
“I think that he’s gone,” Wright told Premier League Productions, as quoted by .
“It’s all about attitude. The thing is when you look at Dani Ceballos he had an attitude problem, Mikel turned him round and now he’s in the team.
“Matteo Guendouzi – they’re talking about him having a problem – he’s not in the team.
“Mikel’s given people the opportunity to get into the team if their attitude is right but at the minute their attitude is not right.
“Arsenal need him [Ozil] of course but I believe that he’s somebody that’s gone from Arsenal whether he stays or Mikel gets rid of him, we’re not going to see much of him.”
TBR View:
Ozil is no doubt a top player with an incredible CV but it’s hard to see how he has any future under Arteta, who has not been afraid to freeze out players – Guendouzi the other prime example.
The 31-year-old arrived at Arsenal to much fanfare under Arsene Wenger in 2013 for a reported £, and his £350,000-a-week extension in 2018 showed just how much he was valued at the club.
However, Arteta has wasted no time moulding the team a certain way and, while it’s not been plain sailing, Arsenal are definitely a much more improved outfit, so most fans are sure to trust his judgement – including on players – as he sets about on his rebuilding job.
