But then, Fabrizio Romano claimed earlier this week that talks between Tottenham and Milan over Tanganga collapsed.

“For Tanganga and AC Milan, now the deal isn’t going through,” he told Matt Hayes – Tottenham Blog’s .

“They’re going for a different kind of player because Tottenham weren’t accepting a straight loan until the end of the season.”

This appeared to suggest that Spurs were indeed looking to sell Tanganga outright.

But according to Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas, Antonio Conte has now made a U-turn on the Spurs academy graduate.

On Thursday, the reporter spoke about the 22-year-old’s future on the .

“We put some information out on him earlier today [Thursday], made some more checks with people on him today,” he said.

Good call from Conte – TBR View

Tanganga may have had some struggles this season, but he’s a young player who’s still got a lot of room to progress.

Admittedly, a spell with Milan would’ve been good – regular football in a league known for its defensive prowess for a title-challenging team.

However, it’s still better than the other previously mooted alternative – selling him outright.

It looks as though Conte has seen enough from Tanganga to warrant keeping him at the club.

A good call from the world-class manager, and it’ll be good to see how the defender can progress under him.
