‘He’s done particularly well’: Gary Lineker says £10m Tottenham player has really impressed him lately

Tottenham look close to being back to their best.

Despite the fact they have so many key players missing at the moment, Spurs are in great form. They’ve won four of their last five games in the Premier League, and they’re only three points off the top of the league as things stand.

Spurs are missing the spine of their team right now, but the squad players who have stepped in have really shown their worth.

Speaking on , Gary Lineker has spared a bit of special praise for Ben Davies, claiming that the man has done particularly well since moving into the centre-back spot in the absence of Micky Van de Ven.

Davies has done well

Lineker shared his verdict on the Wales international alongside Micah Richards.

“Ben Davies I think he’s done particularly well moving into the middle there,” Lineker said.

“Oh he’s amazing,” Richards added.

“We didn’t see the game, but they only conceded late on, Bournemouth according to reports had a number of chances, Spurs are now just one point behind Arsenal and there’s that fight between the north London boys of who’s going to finish on top,” Lineker concluded.

Reliable

Ben Davies is never going to be the most glamourous or exciting player in this Tottenham team, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve tons of credit for his performances over the past few weeks.

Whether it’s at left-back or at centre-back, you can rely on Davies to put in a sturdy performance against any opposition.

He’s a great leader in this side, and his presence at centre-back has really helped Emerson Royal settle alongside him in a role that, on paper, doesn’t suit him at all.

Davies has played a huge part in Spurs getting back on track, and while he’ll probably lose his place in the team once Van de Ven is back fit, he deserves credit for what he’s done during this good run.
