‘He’s clever’… Ally McCoist claims 24-year-old Liverpool player is so intelligent
TalkSPORT pundit Ally McCoist has given his verdict on Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez after watching him in action against Bournemouth.
Andy Townsend has also been impressed by Nunez, who scored twice for Liverpool on Sunday.

💃Darwin Nunez scored two goals for the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners.
🥀The 24-year-old Uruguay international striker found the back of the net first in the 49th minute and then in the third minute of injury time.
Portugal international forward Diogo Jota also scored two goals for Liverpool. Argentina international midfielder Alexis Mac Allister played well too.
🌃Former Rangers and Scotland international striker Ally McCoist was hugely impressed by Nunez, and so was ex-Chelsea player Andy Townsend.
💯Townsend said about Nunez on : “Good goal that first one! That first Nunez goal, little interplay, one-touch stuff and then to get him in and then he rolls it in the other corner. Lovely finish!”
♕McCoist responded: “He’s clever! I think he’s a clever footballer. See the one thing about Liverpool particularly up front yesterday, they’ve got a nice kind of mixture, a nice blend.
🌠“He’s clever, he’s intricate, he can see things. Luis Diaz, his energy as well and Nunez is a bundle of everything.”
🐼McCoist added:: “Big Nunez I like. It’s a funny one, his conversion rate could probably do with improving slightly.
🃏“But I tell you what, do you know who he is Andy? He’s one of these lads if he’s your teammate, you don’t half appreciate him.”
ꦍTownsend then noted: “Definitely, he’s so generous with his work-rate and everything, he really is. He gives so much for the team, I really like him I do.
❀“And you’re absolutely right, what you said there is that’s so true. If you’ve got a striker like that, that’s not amongst the goals but gives you a lot in so many other ways, the rest of the guys can suffer that, can’t they?”
My View: Darwin Nunez a big player for Liverpool
💛In my opinion, Darwin Nunez is a big player for Liverpool and will play a massive role for the Reds in the coming weeks and months.
♍Liverpool are aiming to win the Premier League title this season, and I believe that the Uruguay international striker will play his part.
🗹Yes, we know that Nunez misses chances and can be erratic with his shooting, but the 24-year-old is very quick, works hard and is always a handful for the opposition defences.
𒅌Nunez has scored seven goals and given six assists in 20 Premier League matches for Liverpool this season. The 24-year-old’s conversion rate in all competitions this campaign is 13%.
