The 18-year-old has yet to feature for Leeds since arriving at Elland Road.

However, he’s already a regular for the Italian national team, and impressed for the Azzurri in the international break.

He’s already made an impact on Leeds’ coaches in training, and Gnonto will now be in the Leeds squad against Aston Villa.

Marsch: ‘Gnonto in the squad this weekend’

“Pleasantly surprised all of us in every way.

“Video of he and I meeting in the office, which was funny because it was normal to me.

“You can see his humbleness and his maturity and on the pitch he’s been fantastic.

“Very good with the 1s. In the squad this weekend and we think he can play a big role now.

“Revise my statement on him being PL ready.”

It’s a big statement from Marsch to include Gnonto in the Leeds squad so early in his career.

He’s also competing for minutes against a group of incredibly talented young forwards at Elland Road.

The young Italian with ‘huge potential’ is up against Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood, Mateo Joseph and Sonny Perkins.

Andrea Radrizzani has already said he wants to see Gelhardt playing more for the first team.

Marsch now has the difficult task of trying to balance the amount he plays each of his young forwards.

However, that won’t dampen the excitement for Leeds fans as they might finally get a glimpse of Gnonto in first-team action.
