✱Newcastle co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi took to Twitter to celebrate his side’s 2-1 win over Southampton last night.

ꦑEddie Howe’s side have been fantastic recently and although they were made to work hard by the Saints yesterday, the Magpies got the job done in the end.

♏Southampton took the lead through Stuart Armstrong in the 25th minute. Newcastle were pushed back, but it didn’t take long for them to equalise. Chris Wood levelled the scores just seven minutes later before Bruno Guimaraes scored an incredible goal in the second half to seal the game.

𝕴Newcastle United supporters travelled in numbers to the South Coast last night and that alone deserves a huge amount of credit considering it was a weekday.

🐼To add to that, they were brilliant throughout the game.

ꦯEven when Newcastle were briefly a goal down in the first half, they continued cheering them on and that is arguably one of the biggest reasons why Howe’s men picked up the three points last night.

💞Ghodoussi tweeted out a picture of Newcastle fans celebrating in the away end at St Mary’s. One supporter was spotted with his shirt off and the Magpies co-owner called him a ‘legend’.

TBR View:

♕After years of pain and misery under Mike Ashley, Newcastle fans finally have owners who they can get behind.

♔Their enormous wealth and willingness to take the club to the top is one thing, but the way they’re regularly engaging with the supporters has really helped build an incredible relationship.

🦹Newcastle’s January signings are all delivering now and that has helped them climb up the table. It’s not over until it’s over, but most people will confidently say now that the Magpies will not get relegated this season.

𓃲It really is an exciting time to be a Newcastle fan, isn’t it?
