‘He’s a brilliant footballer’… Marvin Bartley is in no doubt 26-year-old Celtic player will improve soon

The form of Greg Taylor has really frustrated the Celtic fans this season. It seems long gone are the days they would watch him bomb up and down the left flank with ease.

Now the fans view him as a bomb scare as he gets exposed in Europe and now domestically in the Scottish Premiership.

You could argue that the loss of Daizen Maeda to injury was huge for Taylor. The Japanese winger’s defensive work on the left-hand side of the pitch was a great support for the Scotland defender.

Unfortunately, Hyunjun Yang just doesn’t offer that. But despite his poor form, Marvin Bartley believes that Taylor will ‘bounce back’ as he says he is a brilliant footballer.

Bartley said [], “When your confidence does go and when you’re doing really, really well and when someone changes your role, then all of a sudden you begin to struggle with that even when they change it back.

“It’s not seamless. It’s not all of a sudden, right things are going to click and be brilliant in this role again.

Greg Taylor will bounce back because he is a brilliant footballer, and he’s shown that for Celtic and people have written him off before so you know, he will definitely bounce back.”

The Celtic fans will certainly be hoping that’s the case. And starting on Saturday against Livingston. Brendan Rodgers knows he must keep all three points back at Celtic Park after surrendering an eight-point lead at the top of the table.

The pressure really is on the Celtic players and the Hoops gaffer as the Glasgow Derby gets ever closer.

With the lead at the top of the table now down to two points, winning the next three games is vital for Celtic if they wish to keep their title hopes alive.
