‘He’s a big, big doubt’: ‘World-class’ Arsenal player could miss Wolves game due to injury – journalist

Charles Watts, the Arsenal correspondent for Goal, believes Takehiro Tomiyasu will miss the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday due to injury.
The Japan international, labelled as ‘‘ by Ben White, has been absolutely outstanding for the Gunners since he joined them from Bologna in the summer. He has been a regular at right-back, but he missed the game against Burnley due to an injury.
Arsenal haven’t played since and although Arteta said after the game that Tomiyasu would be out ‘‘, Gunners fans were hoping he’d be back in time for the game against Wolves.
However, it now looks like he will not make it.
Charles Watts: Tomiyasu is a big injury doubt for Wolves v Arsenal
The Arsenal journalist this week: “I think the big one that we’re all going to be wondering about is Tomiyasu, isn’t it?
“I’ve not seen any pictures of him in training since they got back from Dubai, it is a little bit worrying. We heard Mikel say after the 0-0 against Burnley just before the break that Tomi would be out for a few weeks with a calf injury.
“We haven’t seen him in training yet, so you’ve got to think he’s a big, big doubt for this Thursday.
“He’s such an important player for Arsenal, there’s no doubt about it. Defensively, he’s just so, so solid.”

TBR View:
If he really hasn’t recovered from his injury yet, Tomiyasu would be a huge miss for Arsenal. The Gunners are so much stronger with him in the side compared to when he’s not, and Wolves will certainly look to take advantage of his absence.
It will be interesting to see who Arteta will go with at right-back, especially with Calum Chambers now gone.
Ben White has been used there already this season and he did fairly well, while Cedric Soares, who has barely played this term, is the other option to fill in at right full-back.
Neither player is as good as Tomiyasu in that position, but Arteta has to find a way to get the job done there until the Japan international is back.
