‘Here we go’: Fabrizio Romano says Leeds about to seal late deal for seriously ‘fast’ striker
What a rollercoaster transfer deadline day it’s been for Leeds United.
The Whites were seemingly closing in on the signing of Bamba Dieng earlier on today.
However, the Marseille striker had a change of heart, snubbing Leeds for a move to Nice.

In a further twist, Dieng then failed his medical with Les Aiglons.
Then, as the clock ticked towards 11pm, Romano dropped a Leeds bombshell.
Namely, that the Whites were working on a late, late signing.
Romano has now provided a further update as to who that player is.
It’s… Wilfried Gnonto.
Leeds were linked with Gnonto – of FC Zurich and the Italy national team – earlier this summer.
In mid-August, Gianluca Di Marzio that Leeds were working on a deal to sign the 18-year-old.
The Whites were reportedly hoping to land Gnonto for just £4.2 million.
However, Tuttomercatoweb – via – claimed that Zurich wanted at least €8million (£6.8million).
Speculation then petered out on that front, with Leeds seemingly looking at other targets.
But now, it looks as though the Elland Road outfit have just made their “final signing” of the summer.

Already a full , the teenager can play in a variety of central and wide attacking roles.
Gnonto has made 74 appearances for Zurich, registering 12 goals and 10 assists.
