‘Here we go’:…Fabrizio Romano confirms Tottenham’s first January signing
Tottenham Hotspur will be signing former Chelsea striker Timo Werner, with Fabrizio Romano confirming the news this evening.
News broke this morning that Werner was a player Tottenham were pushing to sign, as Ange Postecoglou looks to get his squad strengthened in January.
Reports throughout the day have updated the situation, in terms of whether or not the deal will be made permanent and if Tottenham will cover wages.
The forward was also left out of the RB Leipzig squad today as he prepared to fly to England.
And now, it seems everything is sorted and ready to go.

Romano confirms Timo Werner to Tottenham
Taking to has confirmed the deal with his famous ‘here we go’ in a post.
Romano’s post comes just after David Ornstein had posted to say a full agreement had been reached on the deal to bring Werner in.
The Athletic journalist confirming that a buy clause of around £15m is also included in the deal, should everything go to plan.
Werner will want to hit the ground running
This signing really has come out of nowhere and it is a credit to the likes of Daniel Levy and Ange Postecoglou that it has been kept so quiet.
Now, the key is for Timo Werner to come in and make an impression. It’s time for him to forget about what happened at Chelsea and show why the Blues splashed out on him in the first place.
With Heung-Min Son missing due to the Asia Cup and Brennan Johnson hardly firing in the goals, this is a real chance for Werner to add some value to the Spurs squad.
A fast start will help him and you’d imagine Postecoglou will have an arm around the German from day one as he tries to get the best out of him.
If Werner can indeed start well, then the goals might just flow and his pace, as well as his experience, can be a huge asset for Spurs in the second part of the season.
