‘Here we go’: Fabrizio Romano claims Nottingham Forest have just completed double swoop

Nottingham Forest have reportedly got two deals over the line today.

Over the past few days, the Reds have been closing in on Taiwo Awoniyi and Dean Henderson.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter claiming both deals have been sealed in quick succession.

Just before midday, the transfer guru claimed Forest had signed all the paperworks for Awoniyi.

“It’s done and sealed,” he said, adding the Reds triggered the Union Berlin star’s £17million release clause.

Just over two hours later, Romano claimed that Forest have also got the Henderson deal over the line.

The Reds will take the Manchester United goalkeeper on a straight loan deal until the end of the season.

As has previously been reported, there is no option to buy.

At the time of writing, Forest were yet to announce either signing on their official website.

Taiwo Awoniyi factfile

Awoniyi joined Union Berlin on loan from Liverpool in 2020 and signed permanently the following year.

During his time on the books at Anfield, Awoniyi had seven loan spells.

One of those was at Mainz, where then boss Achim Beierlorzer called him ‘sensational’ ().

He never played a first-team game for Liverpool, but his permanent move to Union has earned him plenty of admirers.

The 24-year-old has 25 goals and nine assists from 65 Union appearances.

Last season, Awoniyi registered 20 goals in all competitions for the German capital club, including 15 in the league.

His efforts helped Union finish fifth in the Bundesliga and qualify for the Europa League.

Awoniyi has done so well at Union that ranked him at number 14 in their top 50 players of all time.

The striker – who has been to Erling Braut Haaland – has also won three caps for Nigeria, scoring once.

Dean Henderson factfile

Henderson came through the ranks at Manchester United and remains on their books.

However, he has played second fiddle to David de Gea at Old Trafford over the last two seasons.

Henderson only made three appearances in 2021-22, which came in the Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

However, the 25-year-old one-cap England international is proven at Premier League level.

He has made 49 top-flight appearances – 13 for Manchester United and 36 on loan at Sheffield United.

While at Bramall Lane, Henderson kept 13 sheets as the Blades finished ninth in 2019-20.

His efforts led to former teammate Sander Berge him “awesome” and “insane”.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho lauded Henderson’s “” development at Old Trafford and tipped him to become ““.
