‘Helped greatly’: David Moyes names West Ham United player who’s ‘beginning to show his worth’ live on air
David Moyes has said West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca is ‘beginning to show his worth’.
He admitted that last season’s busy schedule did affect their start to the campaign.
However, he was pleased with the impact his new Italian striker was starting to make.
“Scamacca’s goals have helped greatly. He’s had a good start.”
“He had three weeks out with a virus, which knocked him back a little bit and knocked us back a little bit.
“He’s now beginning to show his worth, and scoring all sorts of different types of goals.”

Scamacca has plenty to live up to after arriving at the London Stadium this summer.

Scamacca was brought in to offer competition to Michail Antonio, and has outscored him in all competitions so far this season.
Mainly used in the Europa Conference League, Scamacca is finally getting his chance in the Premier League.
David Moyes has been urged by Tony Cascarino and Darren Bent to start picking Scamacca more.
He certainly made an impact on Sunday, scoring a delicate lob over Bernd Leno in the Hammers 3-1 win over Fulham.
Scamacca ended up being West Ham’s second most expensive incoming of the summer.
West Ham fans have yet to see centre-back Nayef Aguerd in action, who’s transfer fee came in just below Scamacca’s.
The Moroccan defender unfortunately picked up a serious injury in pre-season.
However, Scamacca has already teamed up well with Lucas Paqueta, who was their biggest outlay of the summer.
It was the Brazilian’s deft pass into Scamacca that set up his goal, despite admitting he’s struggling to communicate with his teammates.
Scamacca is continuing to show his worth to Moyes with his goal scoring antics.
And in return, it looks likely that the Scottish manager will continue to keep picking him ahead of Antonio.
