West Ham transfer news: Harry Maguire highly unlikely to move in January
West Ham United are in real trouble right now, sitting in the bottom three of the Premier League.
After a busy summer transfer window, they’ve yet to add to their squad in January.
David Moyes appeared to recruit very wisely just a few months ago.
Quality players were added in a number of key positions, but it seems to have caused more disruption than good.
Gianluca Scamacca has failed to hit the ground running, and Michail Antonio’s form has suffered.
Lucas Paqueta has struggled in recent games, with Chris Sutton labelling him a ‘massive disappointment’.
Injuries hampered Nayef Aguerd’s start to life at the London Stadium, while Thilo Kehrer has looked shaky at best.
West Ham had been linked with a move for Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire.
The England international has lost his place in the United side to Luke Shaw in recent games.
However, it now appears as though won’t be going anywhere this month.
West Ham target Maguire going nowhere in January
: “I think the link [with West Ham] will be genuine, but I can’t see Manchester United allowing him to leave, certainly not on loan in the transfer window.
“Yes, he isn’t starting games but he is coming on and featuring in most matches, as in the derby when it was tight and United were trying to see out that victory.
“So, my hunch was always going to be that he’ll stay this window and then a parting of ways is probably the best for all concerned in the summer.
“I guess the caveat to that is if Maguire feels he isn’t getting enough minutes under his belt, he could well go to Erik ten Hag and to the board and ask to be let go, that might see a change of stance.
“But at this moment in time, I think he’ll stay.”

Although he’s not always been at his best at Old Trafford, his performances in an England shirt have always been consistent.
Moyes has had to deal with a number of defensive injuries at the club this season.
A fully fit Maguire at West Ham for the second half of the campaign would certainly have been very welcome.
His impact on the pitch and as a leader off it would have been invaluable.
However, it now appears he’s going nowhere as Man United look to secure Champions League football once again.
