‘He’ll be here’; Jurgen Klopp suggests he won’t be selling 26-year-old Liverpool star this month
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Divock Origi will stay at the club beyond the end of this month’s transfer window.
revealed a few days ago that Newcastle United are interested in the Belgian, while a few clubs from abroad are also said to be keen.
Origi’s contract will expire at the end of this season. That is why many believed that the Reds would cash in on him in this window if an offer arrived. However, Klopp is not entertaining that idea at all.
The Liverpool boss has revealed that Origi, who is still injured, will stay at the club until the summer.

While speaking to the media in his press conference ahead of the game against Arsenal, Klopp was quizzed about Origi’s future at the club.
He said, as per : “Div is not available. Div didn’t train, Div is still injured and still in recovery.
“So he cannot help us in this moment but I don’t see any kind of scenario – pretty much everything can happen in life – but from this moment I would say he will be here (beyond the end of the January transfer window).
“And hopefully, fit soon because we actually could use him quite well now.”

It makes financial sense for Liverpool to take what they can get for Origi and move him on instead of letting him run down his contract.
However, keeping hold of the 26-year-old until the end of the season is the smarter move.
Mo Salah and Sadio Mane are currently away on international duty and they aren’t expected to be back for a few more weeks. Even when they are back, Klopp doesn’t really have top-quality backups, and it doesn’t look like they will bring anyone in this month either.
Origi, , can play anywhere across the front three and he has shown that he is capable of being a super-sub. Keeping hold of him until the end of the season makes a lot of sense, even though it means he’ll walk away for free in the summer.
