Heeding advice from Robert Pires would take Arsenal into the top four – TBR View
Robert Pires has suggested that Aaron Ramsey will return to Arsenal as he suits Mikel Arteta’s style of play despite reported interest in the Juventus star from Tottenham Hotspur – and the Gunners must heed the Frenchman’s advice.
Ramsey, 30, left Arsenal in the summer of 2019 on a free transfer to join Juventus. During his 11 years at Arsenal, he played 371 times – scoring and creating 65 goals each, meaning he had a hand in a whopping 130 strikes for the North London side.
He was never really a number 10, either. Playing deeper in midfield, more like a box-to-box eight, Ramsey’s goal return is sensational. It is exactly what Arsenal lack in their current side under Arteta, a goalscoring, marauding midfielder.
that Ramsey will return: “He needs to stay a few more years and then he will return to Arsenal. It is my belief, I am not a fortune teller,” even though the 60-time Wales international has a contract until 2023.

In a seperate report, Tottenham and Wolves are interested in Ramsey ahead of the summer window with Juve keen to get him off the wage bill. They will accept offers between £8.75million and £13.5million for Ramsey.
Emile Smith-Rowe has been excellent in the 10 role, and Arsenal need to build the team around the likes of him, Bukayo Saka, Kieran Tierney and Rob Holding. But bringing Ramsey back into the fold gives Arsenal a bit of top-tier quality.
Another mercurial type of player, Ramsey is in that top bracket of talent that has the ability to change games by himself. Even losing a yard of pace as he enters his thirties, Ramsey would still be massively influential in the Premier League.
Especially if he returned to a club that means so much to him, emotionally. He completes Arsenal’s midfield, alongside Thomas Partey and behind Smith-Rowe. That midfield has the ability, the spread of quality that takes them back into the top four.
