‘He will score goals’… Darren Bent says nasty £60m striker could be ‘perfect’ for Arsenal
Arsenal could really do with a new striker through the door this month.
The Gunners have scored just five goals in their last five games, and there’s no real cutting edge in front of goal at the moment.
Gabriel Jesus is a fantastic player, but, at the same time, he’s not the most prolific and that is starting to hurt Arsenal.
Speaking on , Darren Bent has been discussing the striking situation at Arsenal, and he says that Ivan Toney could be the perfect solution to the Gunners’ current attacking conundrum.

Toney perfect for Arsenal
Bent shared his verdict on the striker.
“Yeah he’s a good centre-forward and he will score goals, that’s what Arsenal need at the minute, Gabriel Jesus is a fantastic player, but in my personal opinion he spends too much time outside the box. That’s one thing about Toney, he’s always in and around the six yard box and he has a bit of nastiness about him as well which Arsenal lack. I think it would be a perfect fit, but you’re putting a lot of pressure on someone who hasn’t played at an elite level of football yet,” Bent said.
Something different
Toney could be just what the doctor ordered at Arsenal.
As Bent says, he has that striking instinct that has been missing from Arsenal’s frontline for too long now.
For far too long during the Arsene Wenger era, Arsenal were seen as a bit too much of a soft touch, and that sort of mentality is starting creep in again.
Jesus is a bit too easy to bully right now, but as Bent says, Toney has that edge to him that makes him a nightmare to play against, and it’s hard to not get excited by the prospect of Toney heading to the Emirates this month.
