‘He will miss the game’: Nuno says £15m Spurs player won’t be selected tonight, he’s just got injured

Nuno has said that Joe Rodon has picked up an injury and now won’t start for Tottenham Hotspur against Pacos de Ferreira tonight, as per his .
Tottenham without Rodon
Tottenham are set to take on the Portuguese side in the UEFA Conference League, and it could have been a rare opportunity for Rodon to impress.
Nuno is yet to really see Rodon in action first-hand, after using him sparingly in pre-season.
But it seems that Rodon will have to be patient as he waits for a first start of the season, as he has picked up an injury.
“Unfortunately Joe will miss the game, he had a small problem after the game in the training session we usually do in the stadium,” Nuno said.
“Yesterday he tried but he is not 100 per cent fit so he is not going to play. It is a big disappointment because we want all of the players to get minutes.
“No [it’s not a bad injury], I suppose it’s a small one, I think he will be back soon.”

Big blow
That news is sure to come as a frustration to the Tottenham central defender.
Rodon had an impressive Euro 2020, and there was a feeling that he could be set for a big season in North London.
However, Nuno hasn’t shown too many signs that Rodon is in his starting plans right now.
With Cristian Romero arriving and Spurs on the look out for another central defender, competition for places at the back is now becoming fierce.
And Rodon missing tonight’s game is a real blow to his chances.
