‘He will’: Manager confirms £20m-rated star is ‘going to Everton’ in January

Dynamo Kyiv manager Mircea Lucescu has confirmed that Vitaliy Mykolenko will be joining Everton in the January transfer window.
The Toffees are in the market looking for a new left-back due to Rafa Benitez’s problems with Lucas Digne. The Frenchman has been dropped from the squad in each of Everton’s last three Premier League games, which is a real shame.
A win over Arsenal and a draw against Chelsea last night are positive results for Everton, but they still need a lot of help to finish in a respectable position. The January transfer window is only a couple of weeks away and Benitez already has his eyes on one player.
Mykolenko, who has been a star for Dynamo, is said to be on his way to Goodison Park.
Vitaliy Mykolenko will join Everton in January
revealed this week that Benitez’s Toffees are interested in Mykolenko, who is rated at £20 million. His manager, Lucescu, confirmed that the young defender is on his way to the blue half of Merseyside.
He said: “Mykolenko is going to Everton. He will be the first big transfer out of Dynamo since (Andriy) Yarmolenko.
“He’s a young player and he should be an example to others. It’s very important to allow players to fulfil their potential and give them chances to fulfil them.”

TBR View:
Everton need a left-back in January, especially if Digne and Benitez can’t sort their problems out.
Ben Godfrey has been playing in the Frenchman’s position and he has done a decent job. However, it is always ideal to have a natural left-back there who will help provide the right balance to the side.
Mykolenko is a player with immense potential. He is still only 22 and is already a star for his side. He has 21 international caps for Ukraine as well, and under the right manager, he could become a top player in the coming years.
It will be interesting to see if the Toffees will complete this deal next month. Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma are also said to be keen, but Lucescu’s comments make it clear that positive talks between Dynamo, Everton and Mykolenko have been held already.
